The event is organised as part of the EU Industry Week 2021 and will officially launch the CircLean Network for Industrial Symbiosis.

Industrial Symbiosis (IS) represents a potent tool to help the EU reach its carbon-neutral ambitions. But it is only when companies identify the real savings on material costs that IS partnerships will become a natural choice between sectors.

The event will contribute to showcasing the CircLean Network as a concrete opportunity to unleash the potential of industrial symbiosis for European businesses.

The CircLean Network, promoted by DG GROW, supports the setup and pilot phase of an innovative, entirely industry-led network of businesses and SMEs to seize industrial symbiosis business opportunities.

The objectives of the event are to:

• Promote the CircLean network as an opportunity for businesses, public authorities, public/private partnerships and business associations to engage in IS exchanges;

• Increase businesses competitiveness, foster green-growth and eco-innovation and shift to circular economy models;

• Inspire stakeholders to join the CircLean Network to influence the future of IS in Europe by gaining access to the Circlean methodology, online tools and label and being able to co-create them with the other members.

The virtual event will be highly interactive. It will open with a presentation of CircLean’s main ambition and the potential of IS, followed by testimonials from selected members on the reasons for joining the network. A roundtable of speakers on the importance of Industrial Symbiosis for the EU Green Deal and an interactive discussion will follow.
